Hillary coming to Funes inauguration

The US State Department has announced that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will attend the June 1 presidential inauguration of Mauricio Funes in San Salvador. Obviously her presence shows how silly were the right wing campaign ads which suggested that a Funes/FMLN victory would harm the country's relations with the US.

In case you were wondering, U.S. Commerce Secretary Donald Evans and Florida Governor Jeb Bush attended the 2004 inauguration of Tony Saca.

This only prove EL SALVADORS' politicians -ARENA- thought people were STUPID, IGNORANT, AND NAIVE, thought those smear commercials will actually brainwash ppls mentality.

Call me a right wing nutjob, call me whatever you want but I'll speak and call stuff by their name. Obama and Hillary turned out to be their worst possible versions. Under the hijacked Democratic party and the communist manifesto these people are wittingly and sleazily destroying our Constitution.

The FMLN obviously would have hurted the relationship with America... its just 'this' current America who doesn't give a flying crap about commies because they are ones themselves.

lol...commies...ha ha, give me a break. we are well into the 21st century and radicals are still paranoid about commies...ha ha, wake up, look around, look at the present world we live in. there is no such thing as communist niether in the US nor El Salvador. you just need to wake up and realize that things have changed, people and mentalities are changing. the cold war is long over. wake up.

We can't call you 'right wing' Glenn, that was destroyed from within by bickering white trash and rejected by the US public.

El Sal needs not worry about the dwindling power of so-called Christian white trash bigots.

Most US citizens are more info savvy about the rest of the world, despite the sad media. They have become very tired of war and hate.

I guess you've never heard of politicl protocol between friendly nations and allies. Of course the US will send Hillary, why wouldn't she go to the Funes inaguration. After 20 years, ARENA now passes to the role of opposition party. Hopefully El Salvador will now come fill circle and demonstrate to the world that it has become a real Democracy, and that the FMLN will have learned from ARENA that the people's voice is now heard in El Salvador. I salute ARENA for demonstrating respect for free elections, and for turning over power to the choice of the people so very peacefully. That's what the civil war was all about. It's not about stupidity or ignorance, but all to the contrary. Viva la democracia y la paz en el sufrido pueblo de El Salvador.

ARENA is handling over El Salvador's gov., alright, but not with first running it into bankruptcy...

After the elections, the Casaca adage of "El Salvador's economy is robust, we are crisis-proof", has changed into accepting that El Salvador's economy is in shambles, with a massive trade deficit, a craphole of a President that squandered 230 thousand dollars to travel around the world, a Ministerio de Hacienda (ARENA's ministerio de Hacienda!) telling Funes that he should create new taxes among other things that Casaca FAILED to do because he was a freaking protectionist populist, with hospitals out of medicines, without a attorney general being named...

And despite all these, we have right-wing yanks coming here and showing their utter ignorance of Salvadoran politics, believing that the "republican party" of El Salvador is the same as the Republican Party, ignoring the fact that if ANYTHING connects the two is a universal sense of lunacy.

tony saca should be jailed for lying about the economy to the people, for violating the constitution, for negligence, and for bankrupting the country's finances. saca is a criminal, let's jail him.

It's amusing yet sad that there are still some quasi commies out there that haven't realized that they're stuck in a time warp of failed socio-economic doctrines that have time and again delivered only iron fisted dictatorship and cruel poverty to the people. El Salvador needs political plurality and economic development. I hope the leftist looney tunes soon realize that Mauricio Funes is not a lackey, and won't be led by the extremist radical factions who have now crawled out of their political graves.

I'm glad to see that the FMLN finally won a presidential election, and I'm sure they understand that they won because of Funes and only because of Funes. These elections should serve as a clear message that what is needed in El Salvador are a new breed of intelligent and educated politician who are there to serve the people and not simply to serve themselves of the people. Funes has to be very astute now and take all the appropriate measures and comprehend that only he stands in the way of the radical FMLN old guard from there dream of taking political power. It's clear that for the geriatric radical left, this could be their last hurrah..

Good point Anonymous of 5:28 PM. Funes is the sole reason why the FMLN is in power in the first place. With half of the population not happy with the FMLN winning, we just might get that stupid color that commies were wearing from red to blue. Then we are talking about a truly democratic party.

Anonymous 12:48 talks about a Palin-Jindal 2012 ticket. Palin says her geo-political curriculum includes that she can actually see Russia from her bedroom window on a clear day. I wonder if Jindal can see Cuba from his bedroom window too. If this is what makes these two jokers experts, then I guess I'm an astronaut because I can see satellites periodically cross the sky, and I can also see a bunch of stars too.

Glenn you are not honest with yourself, because you do not call it for what it is...you are not a straight shooter as you say you are. Bam!!!Bam!!!Bam!!!

Fist of all, you didn't give a rat's ass about the Constitution when RepudiKlans were in power and used it to whipe their asses with it.Do you rememeber Habeas Corpus??
ETC....ETC...ETC...

What the Democratic party is undoing the pile of shit that was left behind by the Republicans...maybe you are a right wing nut, maybe you are a straight shooter like you say you are...calling "the Patriot Act" when in fact it destroys our constitutinal freedoms, " no child left behind" when it does...

I think that you are one of those Tea Party sourpuss people that are confronted with the idea that America is becaming a better place with the Democrats in power...

First of all, I am not a Republican. I am a Libertarian. Google us, we are not the same.
I'll even give you a link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_politics_of_parties_of_the_United_States#Politics_comparison

Now moving on I will like to make something very clear to you. President Bush supended the Habeas Corpus for enemy combatants... just like Abraham Lincoln did during the civil war. Check your facts. It was only suspended for the terrorists at Gitmo, not for American citizens.

We also suspended the Habeas Corpus for a while during WWII.

The Supreme Court overturned it this summer anyways... so stop whining about it.

I'm a proud citizen of the Great State of Texas, a state that with a conservative government that has one of the lowest taxes in the country created more jobs during 2008 that every other single state in the union COMBINED.

New Jersey, Obama's economic plan flagship state is failing.

Next time avoid being ridiculized by this "loony" and a so-called "bigot", check your facts.

The question for the country is basically, do we want more of the Bush and Cheney style mismanagement, or do we want to give "change" a chance. I realize that we've already decided and have said so with our vote, but there continues to be some irrational diehards who don't seem to understand the meaning of, "We The People Voted and Elected our President Barack Hussein Obama." What part of that statement don't you understand?

Instead of Hillary, I wish Obama would have sent Paris Hilton. Oh well, so is life. I guess I'll just stay home and drink some icy cold beers in frosty glasses, a pinch of salt and a slice of lime. Now let's see, for houdourves, perhaps I'll have some fresh homemade tripe soup and of stack of steaming hot tortillas with some course ocean salt to be dabbing into. I know this great place down by the Covina boardwalk. Is it inauguration day yet?

I am happy for funes in the presidency is time for someone to put a stop on those big companies evading taxes, and taking the money of the people abroad.
