FMLN leads in latest poll

The most recent public opinion poll from the Institute for Public Opinion at the University of Central America shows the FMLN leading voters' preferences for president, legislators and mayors in the elections which are still 7 to 9 months away. The lead is greatest in the presidential race where the FMLN ticket headed by Mauricio Funes leads Rodrigo Avila, the ARENA candidate, by 42.1% to 26.1%:

The opinion poll shows that voters are ready for a change. When asked whether ARENA should continue governing the country, 62.7% answered "no.":

The IUDOP report describes the survey results on a wide variety of other topics showing the view of El Salvador's citizens on the economy, security, the government, and their own sense of well-being. The predominant message of the poll is that Salvadorans believe that their lot in life is getting worse and the government is doing nothing to help them.

It would be edificating for ARENA and its sponsors to be out of power for a while: may turn them back to basics, which they have running away from since the (already ruinous) Calderón administration.

May also make them realize that appointing semi-literate nincompoops such as bureaucracy-spreading Saca may not be such a fine idea after all.

I found hilariously sad that, according to the poll, the best performing ministry is that of Tourism, the ultimate Saca boondoggle, so pointless, so wasteful, so incredibly corrupt for an organization that is only a couple of years old.

Kind of proves that if you pay for enough TV propaganda, the ignorant masses will believe whatever you tell them.

Even though I want to see someone in office besides Saca/Avila/ARENA and I would love to believe that that the UCA poll is on the up and up,the fact is the UCA is just another political tool. They have already proven this in Cabanas where they published results of a poll without ever showing up and talking with anyone til after the results were published and then it was just poeple in the Catholic church. Even my teenage son has learned that the biggest problem with the scientific system is bias. Wait til someone reputable does a poll before you get excited about biased results. That is like believeing that El Salvador is against mining from what you read in Co-Latino a rag of dubious reputation that only appeals to the feeble minded who cant think for themselves.

Hmm, so like La Prensa Grafica and El Diario de Hoy are pillars of objective, honest journalism? Could've fooled me, as I thought they're right wing rags so completely biased. Yeah, poor Co-Latino has spelling errors and you should never believe any thing with numbers, polls, percentages are accurate, but it's better than those other two.

So, that's Saca's secret! Who would have imagined!

That means that Saca knows how to sale bullshit to the ignorant masses; he knows that "enough TV propaganda" works.

That's the reason why Presidente gasta más de $108 millones al año en propaganda.

That's how (K)Saca has been able to sale bullshit to ALL the ignorants who voted for him and his Alianza Republinaca De Extorsionistas!! No wonder!

That kind of proves that if you pay for enough TV propaganda, the ignorant masses will believe whatever you tell them.

EV said it , and I agree!
